Midsummer, for me

More than a couple days between entries can only mean one of two things: Either I’m so busy I can’t find time to breathe, or I’m feeling whiney and complain-y. Sometimes both. But you know, whiney just is not becoming unto a goddess, contrary or not. Besides, I just don’t have time for it.

If I were of the bent, I would borrow a term from another neighbor: he used to say, “Just a fightin’ this old world“ when you’d ask him how he was doing. Except I don’t feel like I’m fighting it. It is just that you can’t milk a cow without the flies. If the garden ground is really fertile to really grow your food, it is going to be really fertile for weeds too.

Husband picked the first blueberries yesterday . . . after he killed the copperhead I almost stepped on while I was mowing around said blueberry bushes.
