i'm reading a book that has quotes at the beginning of each chapter. this one made me think of you and i thought you might like it:

I am pleased creatively with the images. I especially like the play of light and texture in both of them. But without food, they would be worthless, meaningless, as Ecclesiastes put it, vanity of vanities. Yes, nature, when listened to, does say, unfailingly, unwaiveringly and to every being, BE independent."
