A Woman He Liked

They met beside the road, two weeks after breaking radio silence that had been maintained for twenty years. They talked of nothing important, each listening for the other’s heartbeat in a word, soul in a gesture, being in a glance. They should have been strangers but they weren’t. They circled and circled and in a moment of idleness he told her a story of meeting a woman motorcycle drag racer; a woman who rode down a track at 200 mph and for those seconds at least was in charge of everything in her world. “I like it when a woman takes it to a man instead of just staying at home,” he said.

She was a stay at home, homemaking, bake it from scratch mom. Still she knew what he meant. Just because her whole and entire life now was baking bread and doing laundry and sweeping floors, milking the cow and making butter and making cheese, organizing and prioritizing so that the flow seemed smooth and that food didn’t run out, just because her whole life was wiping noses and rear ends and endless messes off the floor, answering endless questions and deciding that yet again today there wouldn’t be time to get the horse out, just because all that did not mean that she didn‘t know that she still fit his idea of a women who could take it to a man; who would take it to a man. She knew she was a woman he liked.

Today is my blogoversary. Being the Contrary Goddess, taking it to you as it were, has been good for me. It has been fun. And having readers and commentators and meeting new blogfriends and stretching my beingness has all been an interesting adventure and I thank you for your part in this.

We ARE all interconnected, interdependent. We ARE all different. Neither matter nor energy is created or destroyed but merely transformed (merely? she says?) and transformed again. There is no such thing as evil. Or good. I will do as I have done here before and quote the most powerful and true TR ever;

“It is what it is. You are what you it. There are no mistakes.”

Now, take it to our very lives!
