Isn't It Pretty to Think So?

Well, wasn't that a nice little emotional catharsis yesterday. It isn't that it doesn't happen all the time, it is that mostly it is a private affair. And it comes and it goes.

Life is like that: it comes and it goes, is held only with an open hand. It is true that life on the farm lo these many years (and many things take years to learn) has helped me with that. I am not defined by my pain or what is wrong with me or even by my happiness or what is right with me because all of that is illusion. Hither world, thither world, all worlds are One.

And today, looking toward the hills from whence my strength comes, after milking which has also added considerably to my grip, I see that those hills have changed color. Just today they did this. If it were a painting, it would be just dabs of stipled color on the tops of the skeletal trees. There on the ridgelines, refracting the rising sun through the still gossamer clothed tops of the mountains, chartreuse green. There are never leaves by husband’s birthday; there are always leaves by mine.

Yesterday's catharsis was genuine & heartfelt and I've left you my own comment on the subject.
And today's thoughtful prose has left me a bit stunned by your profound down to earth wisdom.
With all due respect, you are quite a woman, and I'm glad I've found a window into your life and your thoughts.
We live in difficult times and I'll be the first to admit that I can use all the inspiration I can find.
Thanks for being a Contrary Goddess.
The world needs more of you!

Chartreuse green sounds so serene.

What a powerful post. I liked your description of the hilltops; reminded me of what I saw this morning here in Minnesota; almost overnight the red buds on the maples have popped out and some aspen are just turning chartreuse green. It's happening early this year!

I just want to say thanks to you all for your comments on these last couple of posts. I don't know what else to say but I appreciate them and you.
